I've got a 78 Dodge b200 with a 440 and my brake lights won't come on. It has cruise control so the switch has the plug that goes to the cruise control wiring harness but nothing plugged into the other prongs. It had a Kelsey Hayes brake controller installed that I pulled because I took off the tow hitch I'm assuming that's what was controlling the lights. My question would be what wires are supposed to plug into the switch and where exactly do they run from and what color. Haynes manual is useless diagram is for up to 76 with the 78 being similar but not exact enough. I should've taken pictures before I disconnected everything and tossed the controller but I didn't. Hazards and turn signals work fine switch is brand new and tested. Thanks

Might find some info in this parts manual for 1978-81.

Get a factory service manual for your van. THat is the first tool you should buy if you intend on working on your own vehicle.

HERE'S ONE

HERE's a cheaper one.

Or if you don't like paper copies,

HERE IT IS ON CD

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!
