Started this in the new member section... current status on my build is rear end installed. New bushings. Front end in place. Also new bushings. Half welded. Complete 402 BBC was dropped in my lap last week. Current 350 is ready to be removed. Held in place by a chain wrapped around motor and a piece of angle iron sitting on jack stands in the floorboards. Steering and front brakes are not hooked up. 4 bolts will remove front axle. Lift front end of van off of front axle and roll it out. Drop it to the ground. Jack up motor and disconnect the chain. Lift van up and off of 350/4l80. Drag it out of the way. Support for safety. Finish welding. Assemble new motor, tranny, transfer case. Slide it under van and set body over it. Lift it some and chain it up. Reverse the process.....
More pix to come.

85 Chevy SWB G20 292 w/ 3 on the tree (had it in high school)
78 Chevy SWB G30 350 700r4 Pathfinder 4x4 conversion (wrecked in 08)
92 Chevy EWB G30 350 4l80e (bought with 587k miles for the body. Getting transplants from wrecked 78. Then big block)
Various minis over the years.

That is going to be sweet! Keep us updated! Out of curiosity, what tranny are you going with? Why not the 4L80?

The 700r4 tailshaft adapter to mount a ford np205 is already on. (Proprietary pathfinder equipment company part) came from the one I wrecked. Adapter for a 4l80 is around 700 bucks. Maybe when I'm richer...

Friday's project was to mount the tail end of the tranny. This is the before picture. I'll get the after picture next time... had to cut the pathfinder equipment company bracket and move the tabs some. Added 2 plates to weld the body brace to. The brace on a 92 EWB is apparently in a different spot than it is on a 78 SWB. Mounted ,tightened, cut, jacked, measured, tacked, measured again, welded. It is in and solid. I'll add another piece of angle iron to the front edge to box it in later.
