The 1978 Dodge uses the front sheetmetal of the 71-77 vans, but the 79-up dash and rear sheetmetal. The front suspension is unique to the 78 model year (I believe) but the dash parts are compatible with the 79-up parts and the sheetmetal is compatible with the 71-77 or 79-up depending on what you are working on.
Windows- they're what make a van worth owning! | | | Re: My shaggin wagon build thread | Joined: May 2019 Posts: 33 newbie | OP newbie Joined: May 2019 Posts: 33 | | | | Re: My shaggin wagon build thread | Joined: May 2019 Posts: 33 newbie | OP newbie Joined: May 2019 Posts: 33 | I took her on her maiden voyage yesterday. I still have some quirks to work out such as pulling to one side with braking, dying off of idle, acceleration issues, and carb linkages. If anyone is down in Florida I would love to get some help. Beer and grass provided haha. Does anyone know where the cable links too and its purpose? https://ibb.co/tBpCtV8https://ibb.co/DkgBDFXhttps://ibb.co/Vjtg2cMhttps://ibb.co/gtVSZv4 | | | Re: My shaggin wagon build thread | Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 763 Likes: 50 old hand | old hand Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 763 Likes: 50 | Talk to the Orlando Street Vans guys. Josh with the Electric Boogaloo Van did a bunch of work to his, which i believe is a 77. | | | Re: My shaggin wagon build thread | Joined: May 2019 Posts: 33 newbie | OP newbie Joined: May 2019 Posts: 33 | I've talked to Josh but he's recently moved and busy with that. I text him regularly. He's the only vanner I know face to face. | | | Re: My shaggin wagon build thread | Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 763 Likes: 50 old hand | old hand Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 763 Likes: 50 | I've talked to Josh but he's recently moved and busy with that. Maybe even a dust mask and glasses. Could be screwed down in places potentially so I’d have cordless drill at the ready. But yeah, rip it out!
