I have 3.73 gearing in my differential and 28" in stock tires. I did a calculation that I found on Bleepin Jeep YouTube channel to find out what gearing I need to run my new tire sizes. It came out that I need a 4.11 ring and pinion.

I ordered the parts along with a Detroit TruTrac.

My question is: Do I have this correct? Or will the lower gearing suck ars?

I went from 225 to 245 on my G30 without changing any gears .... still takes off like a jack rabbit N now I get better MPG. My white van has 4.10 gears from the factory. Id be more worried about tire rub when going bigger.

My red 4X has a 3" lift to fit 315/75/16 12" wide with 4.56 gears ft N rr. It came to me with 275/75/16 tires I changed no gears on that one either.

You might want to try running the new tires then order gear paks.

And both vans still have way more motor than tire ....

frscke1 thank you, it sounds like you already have bigger gear ratios in your rigs than mine does (3.73). i already ordered a 4.11 ring and pinion set. My current diff has been howling at me since i bought the van two years ago. after a bunch of looking around my guess is the backlash is super loose... I may just stick the 4.11 in anyway because I already bought it.

I really like your rigs man!
