So i came across a set of rear doors I am going to go get this weekend. They are currently installed so I have to pull them. Have a few questions of the removal of the pins. Anyone have experience removing these? I am thinking of buying one of these tools that this youtube guy makes. Think this is necessary?
I am honestly planning on cutting the hinges to get the doors off of the parts van at the lot. But I will have to remove the pins on my van to re-install properly. Any suggestions, or ways to do it without buying a $65 tool? I am really only worried about getting the bottom ones out since the bumper is in the way of hitting with a hammer and punch..... THANKS IN ADVANCE

You don't say what make of van you are dealing with, but I think it would be easier to just unbolt the hinges from the body. That is what I always have done. A basic socket set is all you need. No need to pull the hinge pins.

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!

For Chevy all you need is a 9/16" socket to unbolt the doors from the hinges. If you're taking the hinges too, you'll also need a 5/8" socket.

I am working on a 1995 Chevy G30. I though about removing the hinges, but I have read on this site where some people have found there is a hidden third bolt somewhere that is almost impossible to get too? Ever heard of this? If each hinge only has the two bolts on the inside of door frame, then yes, that is too easy....

10-4. Thanks for that. Have you heard of this magical third interior bolt for the hinges that I mentioned above?

I have never worked on a Chevy van, only Dodges and Fords. They only have two bolts per hinge.

Awesome. Makes me feel much better! haha Thanks again! Pretty stoked on these doors. 100 bucks for both with tire carrier and ladder already mounted!! Of course I will be removing the tire carrier for install, but I think I can leave the ladder where it is judging by pics of the bolts...

Thanks again guys! It really was that easy. 4 bolts for each hinge. In and out of the yard in 15 minutes.
