Once I run a pipe from my Mufflers to the outlets it may stiffen it all up a bit. Hopefully I will get to that this week. i feel kinda lame with the pipes on there and still blowing the exhaust out the tailpipes in back. hahahaha | | | Re: I'm back on the road, here's TikiVan | Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 763 Likes: 50 old hand | old hand Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 763 Likes: 50 | Gotta ask, can you roll with the windows down, or does sand go EVERYWHERE? | | | Re: I'm back on the road, here's TikiVan | Joined: Mar 2019 Posts: 130 Likes: 3 member | member Joined: Mar 2019 Posts: 130 Likes: 3 | Gotta ask, can you roll with the windows down, or does sand go EVERYWHERE? i was thinking the same thing when i saw the interior lol awesome van | | | Re: I'm back on the road, here's TikiVan | Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 763 Likes: 50 old hand | old hand Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 763 Likes: 50 | Gotta ask, can you roll with the windows down, or does sand go EVERYWHERE? i was thinking the same thing when i saw the interior lol awesome van the van looks even better in person than in these pics! | | | Re: I'm back on the road, here's TikiVan | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 280 enthusiast | OP enthusiast Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 280 | Gotta ask, can you roll with the windows down, or does sand go EVERYWHERE? Nope, the sand stays put. It's got a 3-inch high wall and the rear benches to keep it from sliding around. Everyone I mentioned using sand instead of sand colored shag carpet to told me not to do it because it would blow around. I was determined to make it work, so before pouring all 800 pounds of it in, I dumped a few bags on the floor and drove it down the highway. There just isn't enough airflow even at 70+ miles per hour to blow it around or create any dust :-) I have an insulated and wood subfloor to keep the sand from laying directly on the metal so metal corrosion from the sand is mitigated...I Hope. The neighbors thought I was crazy when they saw me dumping the rest of the sand in the van LMAO. Now they love it.
