Hey Guys, Im Zack from Georgia, and I have recently (over last 2 year) become super into the Vans. I have been lurking/reading around this site for awhile, and today decided to make an account and chat with you all. I have a 1995 G30 LWB that I am in love with. My brother and I race motocross, so its main use is a motovan. We haul 2 bikes, gear, food for the weekend, etc, and sleep in it! AWESOME!! Recently blew a head gasket so almost done rebuilding from pistons up. I have a few questions.... 1) Any good places to get weather stripping for the doors? Most of mine is gone or almost there. I have seen some for sale, but it seems pricey. 2) the wipers have never worked. I started to replace the wiper motor but realized how big of a pain it is, and wanted to get some input. Any easier way to get to it. Any common electrical issues that cause this? My understanding is the motors rarely fail? But if i have to pretzel my body for a few hours under the dash i am replacing it all! Fuse is not blown either..... Anyways looking foward to hearing from you all. Going to try to post a few pics as well. CHEERS!
Welcome Zack! The wiper motor is a total pain to access. The best way I've found is to remove the dash pad. The heat/AC controls will unscrew as an assembly and move outta the way just enough to reach down behind them. Remove a few pieces of duct work and you can reach the wiper assembly from the top with one hand! I've worked on four of these and never actually found a bad wiper motor, it has always been the damned delay board. (research wiper delay board on any of the square body Chevy pick-up forums and you'll see how bad they really were) The delay board is mounted to the wiper motor with four small screws and requires a T-15 tork bit (IIRC). Have some band-aids handy, you're gonna scratch your hands reaching it. I would replace just the board first. As hard as it is to reach it's still tons easier than the entire motor assembly and, if that works, it will save you a bunch of trouble.

You might want to check LMC for your weather stripping

From my list of parts replaced on the 1995 g30 Metro Moulded RKB 1300-100 Super Soft Body Seal Kit Fairchild Window Weatherstriping Rockauto So it looks like I got the rubber wipers on the windows from rockauto, not sure if the Metro stuff came from there or another supplier. Don't order the same kit I did, yours has the swing doors. Very nice quality though so I would use them again. If you want a little pulling power and your block is roller comparable i recommend the 14097395 with a roller conversion, you will have to change the fuel pump and increase fuel pressure along with a tune to get the full benefits. Night and day towing difference after redoing the shift points and tuning in TunerProRT. If just hauling a few bikes it may be OK as is.
Can't really help you with the electrical issue, just have to diag it out. If you do have to change the motor, just pull the dash cover. I've had mine in and out a few times now and now I can have it out on the floor in less than an hour. It's not so bad once you do it a couple times and learn where all the fasteners are.
But for the door seals, definitely go with the Steelerubber seals. I used some cheaper ones from 1A auto, and while they do work for the most part, they don't fit quite right. My back doors still are not 100% right so I may be replacing them with better quality.
