I just purchased an 89 e350 dealer vanup conversion and cannot find a carrier that will insure the vehicle. All I'm looking at is plpd until I can get to restoring. I just want it to be road legal.
Any suggestions? Thanks

Edit: Specifically, the insurance companies are flagging the conversion itself. My wife and I have clean records with good credit.

You might have to clean it up a bit so the ins co see's value in it.

Awesome rig.

Will they not insure it as a truck ? How is it listed on the title ?

Curious why they won't insure it? Maybe try a different insurance company? I've insured dozens of vehicles over the years sight unseen, and the insurance company could care less as long as I give them a VIN# and pay my bill.. I could see them maybe being picky for full coverage, but should be no issue for plpd..

I love those. Always wanted one, but now maybe not...very strange they would not insure it.

I wonder if you just told them it was a Ford van, gave them the Ford VIN, and let it go at that? Or, ask the seller who he had insurance with?

"My Momma told me, you better shop around..."

Auto Club, AAA, is the absolute worst. Their fine print says they can put you in a room and be interrogated.

The Vin # on both my B Vans show as an incomplete Vehicle. That's a Code 3 right there. It's an incomplete vehicle, how can go down the road? Some computers won't take Xplorer, as a Vehicle manufacturer.
Be aware that some people don't even know what a "Van," even is. Seriously. Be patient, and amazed at how ignorant some people are.

Just remember who you are dealing with. The Stupid is strong

Try Progressive

I've always had good luck with Geico.
