Anybody have a source for the Walker 40540 Y pipe. I've been searching Google and not finding it anywhere. Need to get the exhaust leaks fixed before I move forward. All the exhaust shops in my area are closed on weekends so I haven't tried them yet. Thanks for your help.

Wrong. Single exhaust: costs less, weighs less, flows just as much as dual, and you don't need to worry about routing the second pipe around things.

A well designed single pipe is as good or even better than duals. The only reason to go for duals is looks. There is no technical benefit of dual exhaust over single, provided the single exhaust is sized properly.

The above being said, you might try using a truck Y pipe or having an exhaust shop fabricate one. Nine years ago when I changed the engine in my 89 Ford van I could not source a new Y pipe. I decided to use a y pipe from a Ford truck. It actually fit pretty close. A muffler shop did have to make minor modifications after it was installed, but the fit was pretty good.

Thanks, I'll have my local exhaust shop make one their pretty good at it. Just have to take a couple vacation days. Sometimes even with an appointment they don't get it done then I'm stuck.

It's shown as a good number on Walkers website:

http://www.walkerexhaust.com/catalog/walker-exhaust-systems/e-catalog-lookup/40540

Not an in-stock item locally but I'm guessing a parts store could order it for ya.

Walker tech support said the pipe is no longer available. I'll post a pic and price when I get one made.

Thanks

Not in stock at manufacturer.walker list alot of parts but don't churn out obsolete, they used to rely on dealer stock buy back for obsolete numbers . Maremont was the same.. if you were in Nashville I would build you one at the shop.

When in doubt..get the sawzall out..
