I was actually considering bidding or making an offer on this van the first time he listed it (the link is a re-list after it failed to meet reserve).

The only thing that stopped me from getting serious about it is that it has no factory air conditioning. I live in South Carolina where the Summer is brutal. Oppressive heat and humidity. Considering I'd have to have the van shipped, or do a fly and drive, I opted to not bid.
But I really like the van.

How hard and expensive is it to add A/C to a non A/C van?
I know about Vintage Air, but I figure that's at least $1500 and probably that much again to have it installed. What about adding the missing factory components? Just as hard and expensive to install?
Is adding A/C to a non A/C van just a money pit?

'86 Chevy G-10: Gone. Looking for a shorty van.

The hardest part is adding the evaporator, fan, and ducting in the cabin. All the engine stuff can be sourced from a later van and bolted on. You can try and mount an aftermarket underdash AC evaporator unit to your ceiling or in the dash of the van. Just get creative.

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!

All the under dash parts are made of "un-obtainium". Un-less you find a boneyard donator-yer screwed.

Tucson-it's a dry heat...like an oven
