I just picked up a 1994 B250 with a sliding side door and single rear door. Been looking for that combo for a little while all up and down the east coast and finally found it. This one was a church van until last summer when a roofing company defiled it. Looked like a convenience store exploded inside the van.
As the thread title says, I found y'all via the Dajiban phenomenon and have been reading through all the threads under that search topic. Lots of great information and that's much appreciated! I've had a couple lowered S10s back in the day, but aftermarket parts for those were common enough to find at the grocery store next to the eggs and milk. Having threads full of info here has been great to find, so thank you.
One thing I have not found much info about is the 8 lug vans. Do the drop spindles accept the 8 lug rotors/bearings?

Welcome to the site peaches..the eight lug spindle and bearing are big diameter. You might have to go with a different method of lowering . But it can be lowered

Thank you for that tidbit of info, probably saved me weeks of waiting on parts. I am REALLY leaning towards using the drop spindles, as I've had coil dropped S-10s and they constantly bottomed over bumps. I would not mind converting to the 5-lug spindle/brakes up front to be able to use the drop spindles, but ...
How would I go about converting the rear to 5-lug? Is it as simple as sliding the 5-lug axles/brakes from a 1500 into my 2500 rear diff?
Honestly, I was going to run a staggered tire size anyway, so having 5-lug wheels up front and 8-lugs in the back doesn't seem out of the question.
Welcome to the site Peaches .... I would swap the rear axle ... dont use adapter plates.
Again welcome ....

Rear axle spline count the same? Swap the axle like frscke1 said. Salvage yards are a good source and axles are way cheaper than adapters especially eight lug to five. Probably a custom item..I prefer 5 lug even though it is a 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern.
I don't know where the adaptor notion came from, but it wasn't me.
Does anyone have experience with swapping axles from 250 to 150? Are the housings the same? Spline count similiar?
All this sounds like more trouble than simply using 8-lug rims on the back axle, and converting to 5-lug rotors/hubs up front in order to utilize aftermarket drop spindles. Does this sound as crazy as it might look???
I found a rim offered in both patterns that I like the design of, ATX AX202.
Welcome from Florida. Looks like you got a good van to start with. I look forward to watching this build.
