There is a little gear set inside the speedo that is fairly notorious for breaking on 90-93 Dodge trucks and vans. I had to replace it on my 92 B250 van a couple years ago. I think this was the correct part. https://www.ebay.com/i/282613041300?chn=ps If you google "1991 dodge B250 speedometer gear" you'll find a couple youtube videos and such which show how to replace it.

Good luck!

Yes. If you remove the metal dash cap and the plastic bezel around The gage cluster you can unscrew just the speedo and remove it. Then as I recall the gear is on the backside of the speedo. You have to remove a small cover, then use a couple dental picks to coax the old gears out (or if they are like mine, they will be broken and fall out). Then coax the new ones into place.

There is a video entitled “Dodge Cummings speedo gear” or something like that on YouTube which shows the gear replacement. The truck speedo is almost exactly the same as the van.

I have to go to work but I just remembered I have a couple extra gage clusters Olin my shop. Could probably get you a couple pictures later.

Here are some pictures of my extra gauge cluster and speedo. Once you pull the trim bezel off the dash and expose the gauge cluster you can undo the face screws that hold the speedo you gently pry it out. THen on the side you'll see the tiny circuit board that the gear sets into, unscrew the two screws and gently work it out (You can crack the circuit board if you do not lift and twist it out carefully). Once out the gears will basically fall out. Take them out, replace with new ones, reassemble and enjoy your working again speedo. yay
