Hello all, I am considering getting a van for the main purpose of hauling a motorcycle to various tracks. I was looking for advice on perhaps a 80's-90's GMC Chevy G30 and making it highway friendly, perhaps lowering slightly, suspension for carrying up to two bikes, fenders and other aerodynamic mods, maybe adding some modern tech things in the process. I like the look of the older vans more than the newer ones, plus I'm hoping there's less to fix on the late model vehicles. But any advice will be gladly accepted.
Thank you in advance for any help and I hope to help others along the way!

I went with a 92 G20 it has air, cruise, power windows, etc and still has the old school look but drives like a new van, with a fuel injected motor and overdrive it even gets ok mileage
I like the older looks too, and chose a 91 Dodge conversion van for the body style and cost. I picked up a good running 91, with a 318ci and OD trans, gets me about 13-14 in town and 16-17 on the flat open highway, hills drop mpg some. I painted the conversion van windows from the inside with spray can bed liner, used one can ($6.50/can) per window, so not expensive and it gives me privacy and looks like DARK tint. I personally think the 90s vans give the best of both worlds, better mpg and old school looks. Good luck with your search.

I agree on 90s. I got 92 G20 shorty which is project in process atm. For two bikes I think even G20 would plenty as for carrying weight. I can (barely:) fit my quad bike in the back which is 640lb and it doesn't feel a thing. Neither does the back sags due to overload leaf spring.
If it's broken- I'll fix it! If it's not- I'll break it to figure it out how it works so I can fix it.
to the site. I like them all Good to have ya here.
