I am getting ready to use a product called Lizard Skin. It is a spray on latex composite material. There is a sound deadening formula and a ceramic thermal product. http://www.lizardskin.com/

It's not cheap to do a full van. But the product is supposed to be nothing short of miraculous. I plan to apply it to my van in sections. How ever much a 2 gallon bucket will go. it will be easier for my wallet to absorb the hit and I can evaluate how well the product works as I do each section of the van.

Some guys have had good results and say that the Lizard skin type products are the same method is you can by a bag of glass spheres you can pour into paint and the dispersed spheres act like mini air chambers like in closed cell foam.

I was going to ask this same thing. I just bought another van, and want to insulate it for sound deadening and heat.

I have been thinking about using this stuff. https://amzn.com/B00URUIKAK

And then putting this on top of it.

I was also maybe going to add some normal insulation to it, I saw this stuff at menards and saw it was fire proof up to 2000 degrees, and great for sound proofing too.

Here is a video of the fire resistant Thermafiber:

I'm very interested in the Lizard Skin.. Currently planning on doing both the sound and the ceramic coatings in my van when the time comes. It will be much cheaper, lighter, and easier then standard heavy insulating materials. And I've had a hard time finding any bad reviews on the stuff.

Hi,

I know this is an older thread but I wanted to know if Lizard Skin is still the product of choice for the insulating task?

Thanks,
Eden

That answer varies a lot based on where you live, the climate you’ll be using your van in. What’s your goal with the van? How do you see using it?
