Anybody have experience removing an oil pan from a 3rd gen Econoline?

I am working on my 78 E150 351W and I got all the bolts out but the pan appears to be stuck in with the bolt that attaches the oil pressure sending unit.

The oil filter is really a nightmare to get out and it's blocking the sending unit. I got the filter out and have a narrow tunnel to reach the sending unit bolt but it looks really awkward to reach.

Anybody have any tips on getting this pan out? The frame is really in the way of this pan, I'm hoping I don't have to remove the engine to get the oil pan off.

It appears to be leaking and I have the exhaust off and so I wanted to change the gasket while the exhaust is out of the way.

Disconnect everything.
Jack the engine up as much as possible.
Drop the pan as far as you can.
Reach in the front and remove the oil pump.
Then the oil pan and oil pump will come out together.

Installing is even more fun.........

Do a google search and you will find some youtube stuff about it.

Good luck....... eek

Are you saying I need to disconnect the motor mounts? I need new ones so if I do then I may as well replace those at the same time!

Any recommendations on motor mounts for my van? Are there any I should avoid?
