I've been cleaning up the front end of my motor and making it easier to access. I've replaced the stock fan and cowl with electric fans and have upgraded the brackets and pulleys to try and sort out belt squeal issues. It's looking pretty good now but there is still a wobble in the crank pulley. Could this be due to the harmonic balancer I'm wondering? Maybe the rubber in it starts to deteriorate after nearly 40 years? But then it appears that the pulley mounts to the inner part of the balancer so could it be it just needs removing and re-seating or maybe the keyway gets worn.
Yep just did a bit of searching and youtube video watching and it confirmed my suspicions. I should have watched these before I pulled the ballancer off my last motor and stuck it on this one!!!
New puller tool, harmonic ballancer and install tool ordered.
