What fun would that be?
Still not too bad though... Looks like you've got something solid to work with and the seats look pretty nice.

The seats look great! After what all they have been through...

The wife wants to do dark cedar wood for the ceiling, still trying to understand how to do it. I want to insulate before doing so. but not sure if I will need to rivet or drill holes to do it. She also wants hardwood floor, but I'm leaning more towards shag carpet... Any thoughts?

The stain covers the entire back end. The cup holder and dog house need to be replaced. The cup holder for sure, the dog house could probably just use some new carpet and a deep scrub. I have yet to go through the whole van and try to clean it up, as we are still looking at upgrade options. The headliner I'm going to just staple for now, to keep it from sagging so much. As you can see, the inside is not the most glamorous compared to the outside.

Added photos. Instead of copying the URL at the top of the page, right click on the image itself, and select "copy image location", and paste THAT inside the image tags. yay

Yeah, I might have some thoughts.
I've been trying to figure what to do with my van for the entire 4 years I've had it.
It currently has short shag in it from the previous owner.
The van was an interior designer's sample wagon or something in the past, so it had a full vinyl and cloth wall and ceiling treatment (with fiberglass insulation), carpet on the floor, and some really nice metal shelving racks.
I love the carpet, but it's faded pretty badly and has stains.
I originally wanted a wood or laminate floor, but this carpet has won me over.
I really like sitting on it. LOL

I've pulled most of the old custom interior out and even though I like how quiet the insulation makes the van, I would never use fiberglass batting again.
It retains moisture, it's not good to inhale, and it makes you itch if you come into contact with it.
Removing it has been a real pain.

As far as how to mount the ceiling boards, you might want to consider riv-nuts.
They are threaded bosses that "rivet" in.
That way you would have threaded holes to mount things to, and not have to worry about sheet metal screws wallowing out, or accidentally screwing through the roof.
