Fuse Location for 12-volt Cigarette Lighter #740331 September 12th 2018 11:19 pm | Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 2 stranger | OP stranger Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 2 | I have a 1989 Chevrolet G20 Camper Van. My 12-volt cigarette lighter socket won’t work at all. I tried both the lighter and a USB charger neither will work. So my first thought is the fuse may be burned out or missing. I cannot find the fuse location that is right near the brake peddle. Is there another fuse box in the van or am I just not finding the right location. Anyone that knows or might have came across the same issue that can give information would greatly appreciate it!

My Haynes manual's wiring diagram (1983 - up) shows that the cigarette lighter is connected to the same fuse as the hazard/stop lamp fuse. However, when I went out to verify that on my '92 cargo van, it wasn't true. The cigarette lighter on my van is connected to the horn fuse (top left, 20 amp on the panel).
Hope that helps you track it down.

I've seen a few that way as the connections there are a little hinky..... | | | Re: Fuse Location for 12-volt Cigarette Lighter | Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 2 stranger | OP stranger Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 2 | Well that may make sense as my horn doesn’t work either I will check that when I get home. Thanks again for the information. I as well was researching with the Hayne’s manual but that gives limited info. | | |
