Dear fellow VANners,

I am curious to know if any of you out there have taken on the task of swapping out your

ChevyVan's original SBC (305 or 350) for a 454 LBC. I would love to learn about your

experience(s), what troubles you faced, and how in the end you accomplished this task.

Many thanks in advance,

--Tumbled Tweed

I suspect that you can do it with off the shelf parts... assuming you can find them. You may also need to add stiffer springs to the front.

Thank you ;-)

Stiffer springs for the additional weight of the engine|motor I assume.

Thanks for your response.

Not sure about in a van but in a pickup it's a pretty straightforward swap. Everything bolts up. Motor mounts, transmission etc. Exhaust will need reworked and bigger radiator.
