I get why pb was preferred a few years ago and why getting old pictures back is good - but is there a reason to use them for new uploads as opposed to a site like imgur?

I deleted my account there soon as they did their contemptible forum destroying moneygrab. I even assumed it was likely they would at some point realize their buffoonery and reinstate photos, but, I hold grudges.

FOOK them sideways with a rusty hatchet

Did I hear my name?

I deleted my account there too.
I don't care what they change to now. I'm done.

The peculiar thing I noticed about Photobucket was that if I tried to access their site with a Windows PC, I'd get the infuriating notices telling me my account (a *very* long-time paid, commercial-free account) was blocked, but if I used my Android phone with the official Photobucket app, there were no notices, and there was no difference at all compared to the pre-moneygrab days.

Actually there were several differences; it is actually far faster for me to scroll through my folders with hundreds to thousands of images trying to find one on the Android phone app than to do that on the Windows PC. And the Android app has that brilliant fast-responding automatic image upload feature, which has always been a miserably slow, close to crippling process on my PCs.

And even though all access to my account was blocked to Windows PCs, I could still upload automatically or at will via the Android app, create links, download individual images, and download my entire folders to my Android phones, which I promptly did as backup.

So, for me to say they were holding my images hostage is a little farther than I can go; I just had to use their Android app.

Due to the sheer quantity of images (2000+) in several of my folders, the downloads of entire folders would sometimes hang, requiring me to restart the downloads several times, but I eventually got all of them.

It seemed to me almost as if they were in the midst of trying to encourage/force a headlong move to smartphone technology by throttling PC users via the exorbitant subscription fees they initially publicised.

Anyway, with my pro account and Android Photobucket app I've always been able to access my images, which has allowed me to continue posting images here, which I do mostly in PMs anymore though, just to reduce the odds of popping up over the horizon of any heavy-use radar they might be monitoring.

I've moved over to using my phone as my primary means of accessing the site as a result of all this. Astro has the Android support working great; if you haven't tried it, I'd recommend you do.

It's what you learn after you know it all, that counts...

Weird.. I've been using PC primarily (except for mobile upload via Android), and besides it being slow, I've never had issues like that.
