What's up! This seems like a cool site!
My name's shelbey, people call me Phish,
not about the band though.
I'm 21, been traveling for 3 years.
I'm a dead head so to speak.
I just recently bought a merry miler 79 tradesman 200.
Based off a 79 Dodge Plymouth.
It's got a 318, I was hoping it was a slant 6 but it's got what it's got I guess.. haha

We named her throuble. After one hell of a trip home from buying her. Four days ago to be exact.

Here's the story.
We drove two hours up to see her,
asking price was 1000$
I liked what I saw and signed the paperwork,
Then on the way home the tread separatated on the passenger side tire,

We where on a very windy mountain highway.
It was right after a blind turn and I pulled off of the road on a very uneven place in loose gravel..
Half of the van was about a foot and a half higher than the other side, very much tilted.

Someone who was strung out on something stopped to try and help me, he jacked up the lower side of the van to change the tire, took of all but two lug nuts and the jack slipped on the gravel, the tires slid about two feet down the hill sideways and the tire went crooked and the van apst tipped over. Scared the crap out of me.

So we call it a night, second day called AAA and I found out that I lost my key,
So this flatbed tow guy strapps my van in place, half of his truck in the busy highway on a blind turn and changes my tire the fastest I've ever seen and forceably drags the van sideways then on to the tow truck and moves it to safety,

Time to get the key figured out. Called everywhere and nowhere was available on the 4th of July.
Next day we got the key made. It was all good, started her up and she did not want to move, one of the front tires is locked up, the one that sat all fudged up crooked for a day... I think it might be the wheel bearings ... Hopefully.

But she's still sexy.. just allot of trouble... Have a look at her and tell me what you guys think??

That last pic is the stove and sink in the far back. She's got a underside propane tank

Welcome aboard!

Looks like a great way to travel. You're off to a bit of a rough start, which is not all that unusual when buying an older vehicle and immediately having to hit the road with it. You'll get the bugs worked out of it.
