Now that i got the damn van craze, i find myself looking for ideas and then come across another van that has a 454 and four wheel drive, so what could be better than one van but two

I have 2 of them ...

Then i guess your a fan of them and would recommend over the 350?

To answer your question there are about 6 with factory 454's N a few transplants...

I have a 1 of 3 '93 & a 1 of 16 '92 ... both numbers matching

In Oregon there is a ton of 2wd 454 G30/3500 construction vans, most sellers don't even list them as being different. Most ads just say V8. The 4x4 vans are harder to find, big block powered even more so.

My 83 G20 has an 8.1 out of an 02 Express swapped into it. Does that count?

Never personally seen a factory big block G van before, and I've been in and out of self serve junkyards for 20 plus years & always peek at g30's panels/cubes/RVs. 350's and occasionally 400's. Ditto for Dodge Tradesman & the like.. All small block. I will say on occasion I DO see G units brought in already missing the driveline. Never really occurred to me to look at the decal under the hood. I speculate to say some junkyards will torch out a 454 and stash it for their own giddy. Now... Econolines with 460's? Seen masses of those. Ford put 460's in darn near everything.

I have 2 factory 454 vans a 92 & 93 …. no there weren't many made.

You guys and your big blocks....lol. I guess I will score a 427 out of a dump truck and throw it in AstroCreep..not a Merlin but twice as heavy..lol

Working on it.... 92 EWB with a 78 Pathfinder conversion stuffed into it... right now it has a 402 till I get the 454 built.... externally the same.... 402 was to make sure everything fits, operates, and drives well.

I have been lurking for about 6 months, first post. I have been following frscke1's build for most of this time. I guess I need to do an intro post somewhere. I just bought this week a 92 extended body, 12 seater Beauville 454. Its a fun story. The Vin definitely shows it is a factory 454. Ill post picas when I figure that out.

I do a lot with vans, have 12...Ill make an intro post somewhere, not sure where yet but just wanted to acknowledge that I think I may have one of the 16 454 extended body vans that friscke1 mentions. So jazzed

Nice, what kind of gas mileage do you guys get on them 454's? Growing up in the 70's, it was awesome to see somebody open a car hood and there was a 396 or 454 in there.

Yep, its an easy way to quickly tell the extended body vs the standard G20 body

That's because they're so long you normally can't see them all at once.

Still got mine 89 Beau. Have about 200k on it now. I may have found the rarest bird this winter G30 shorty 8 lug 14 bolt. I could not tell what motor, looked like the BB, could be diesel v8. Just thought to check the gas cap, will do next time I pass through. It's rotted out, but worth saving.
