It sticks out a bit further, which is ok if you have grown a bit over the years.

You've given me some more ideas for the rebuild of my wife's '77 G20 Caravan over here in the UK (a 'little' more cancer still to deal with than yours though...). Any update on progress with the slider extender? It's on my list to do (over here in the UK almost impossible to find!) & I'd rather copy a successful mod than wing it entirely on this one. Just about to start the lower part of the slider skin (inner & outer) next week, so many thanks for your 'how-to', particularly for the inner sections. | | | Re: Back2%Basics Part Deux | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 4,043 pooh-bah | OP pooh-bah Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 4,043 | Doing the slider this weekend, hopefully. Had to get a few things out of the driveway first.

I would be replacing the entire rusty control arm! If that rusted enough for the shock mount to come off, I would suspect the integrity of the entire control arm.
Windows- they're what make a van worth owning! | | | Re: Back2%Basics Part Deux | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 4,043 pooh-bah | OP pooh-bah Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 4,043 | That there is called "Michigan rust free". It's scaly, but solid. Jumping railroad tracks at 50mph contributed to the mount failure.
All new control arms are in the future, but they will cost as much as I paid for the entire van. :/

Michigan fare that. Nice repair. No more jumping track crossings.
