Hi, Does anyone have suggestions for adding an extra air conditioner?

All posts are in relation to my brother's 1995 Chevy G20 Cargo van that he is currently rehabbing. Any advice or experience with questions is greatly appreciated!

As in a rear a/c unit? Lots of conversion vans out there in salvage yards that likely have the parts you need.

That is an awesome rear fiberglass unit. I hope someone saves it.

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!

That van has been such a sweetie to me in its final days.

There are many parts left on this beauty as its not done giving up its treasures !

BIG TIME call make a deal, Ill hold it till you come to the states for a vacation in San Diego.... or make arrangements for postal.

The rear air is 6" thick & only about the size of the vent area, not the whole fiberglass pc.

Yeah I would see what the yards frscke1 recommends has, he has pointed me towards parts before.

I looked at some of your older posts and saw you were open to the idea of window-units. Do you just want something to use while driving, to supplement the front air? I think swapping over OEM parts from another van will give you the cleanest install. How do you use your van? One drawback for my factory rear-air unit is it takes up interior height at the back-doors so I can't easily load my dirt bike inside but my cruiser is just low enough to fit under ( a bit of a pain but do-able).

One thing I saw you kicking around was the feasibility of mounting a window-unit inside and venting the "hot side" through the floor or something. I saw a great video of someone that did something sort-of along those lines but it would be quite the project for most people: I don't endorse his wiring methods but the overall concept is very cool.

I use my van as a camper and added a 5100BTU window unit thru an aluminum plate that I cut to match the shape of one of the rear windows. This runs off a bumper-mounted generator when I am parked. My plan is use the van air (front&rear) to pull the temp down quickly ( hopefully 20 minutes or less) and then shut the truck off and keep the window air running off my efficient little generator to keep it comfy. Haven't experimented in the heat yet, but I will find out soon enough. May need to use thicker window shades and add wall insulation.
