I want to remove the windows (fixed, not pop-out) to prep my rear doors for paint soon and am wondering how the rear windows come out.

Can it be done without wrecking the rubber seals? My seals are in good shape...will they be re-usable or will I need to get new ones?

A good brick will take care of those ...so after paint pop outs can go back in ...lol

The windows come out just like a windshield with a pc of string. Yes you can reuse those seals.

Isn't installing pop-outs on non pop-out doors a bit of a hassle?

Nope .... 6 screws. If your doors have that indent, for the hardware handle. Really they are quite easy.

I could swear I remember reading a thread somewhere on here where people were saying doors with pop-outs from the factory were reinforced somehow inside the door and adding them to a non-popout door is can be janky...

Right on, maybe I'll just do that instead and get some air flowing. Are aftermarket rubber seals for pop-outs easy to find?

My replacement rear doors did not have pop outs, but I installed them anyways. It is correct that the inside of the door is slightly reinforced and "dimpled" where the hinge mounts to. It doesn't fit quite as nicely in a retrofit situation, but still works just fine. Just measure twice. You may also want to massage in some of the dimples so that the hinges fit flat to the door.

Friske, you have a PM about the window seals.
