In the early 1970s I had 65 GMC panel that was completely coated with Torginol flooring, brown with metallic specs, was pretty cool looking. One rainy night on a sharp curve I laid the van on its side and slid down the road a ways (a bit of alcohol involved and a couple hot chics in the back), called my brother, he brought some oil, flipped it back up on four wheels, added oil, and was on my way. The Torginol coating, barely had a scratch on it. The Good Old Days.

Many moons ago I had an old jeep that I coated inside and out in it. Worked great. Granted this was a jacked up woods jeep and not really for the street but it looked good. Held up to heavy off-roading. I have seen vehicles with the bed liner on just the bottom like you want and it looks good when done right. You can get it in different colors too. It also holds up to heavy road salt which is what I gather your main use would be for. I say go for it.
