Started to clean her out, she had a lot of junk in her doors, rolling around in her back side, and what not. The joys of buying a furniture company truck!
I changed her back door windows from stationary to pop outs.
Added a Pioneer digital media only head unit and two box speakers (for now).
I found out she gets right at 13.5 mpg city/highway mix. Not too bad for a 318 magnum with a 3 speed auto trans. No OD for this big girl.
And I figured out why she had no left side tail lights or turn signals, wires where RIPPED apart by a careless worker and never repaired before.
I will continue to add here from time to time, as I do any work on her, but do not expect too many posts right now, as I am running out of money to do much with.
I do plan to build a rear bed/storage and add some kind of flooring soon. The temp flooring will be some kind of DIY bed liner from the forward carpet line (behind the driver / passenger seats) all the way to the rear doors. This is mostly so my poor pooch does not slide around so much when she goes with us for drives. I also need to figure out how to get the dang doors to shut right and stop rattling so much ! LOL I am not going for a “pretty†build with this van, but a functional build for travel and camping.
Anyway, that’s it for now. . . .

It will be a cheap and easy build, very basic bed in back with under bed storage accessible from inside the van, or from the back doors.
I am gonna panel the walls with a grey brick paneling I found at Lowe’s, carpet the visible floor area with a short grey shag, and then gonna hang a few skateboard decks on the wall and have someone do a variation of the Pink Floyd The Wall logo on the “wallâ€inside the van. I have not decided how to do the ceiling yet, but leaning towards more of the brick paneling. I am gonna build a custom overhead console with CB, Stereo head unit, scanner and the front speakers for the stereo and a speaker for the cab and scanner.
Outside, I am leaving the paint as is, and adding a cartoon face shot of Uncle Fester with a light bulb in his mouth, and something like “Uncle Festers Electrical Repair†around the head shot, with the phone number of something like 976-UNC-FSTR1 , I will have the artist give the signage a worn look also. I am leaning towards Ansen slot wheels, but not sure yet on that.
I figure this will be a slow, over a few years, build, starting with the bed frame this week. Thoughts or suggestions for me?

FUEL PUMP ! My pump went south on me while driving home from Tulsa, left us sitting on the side of the hiway, had her towed home, tested it and just ordered a Carter fuel pump from Rockauto. . . So I am with out a van for about a week or two. Yay me.

There are reports of replacement fuel pump modules not lasting very long. COnsider cutting an access hatch whave the tank down to make future replacements a 15 minute procedure instead of an All day curse filled procedure. | | | Re: My 1994 Dodge, Ol’Blu | Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 12,107 Likes: 37 Maniac | Maniac Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 12,107 Likes: 37 | COnsider cutting an access hatch whave the tank down to make future replacements a 15 minute procedure instead of an All day curse filled procedure. I had a 79 Dodge van once where a former owner had done just that to be able to replace the fuel tank sending unit easily. Just be careful where yo cut and especially where you sink the screws to hold down the patch panel. I will say that I have been able to drop the fuel tank fairly easily on several vehicles by spraying the nuts on the straps with Kroil and letts it sit for a bit and by cleaning the threads on the bolts with a wire wheel mounted in a drill motor. Clean the threads, let the penetrating oil do its work, and the nuts came right off with no problems.

Less than half what it should be. Everything I have found says 40psi
