Ditto. I'm a firm believer in not trying to do things I can't afford.

That kills me.. I love seeing all these old vans getting redone, but these go fund me accounts are absurd. And it's not just vans. I see them all over the place for all kinds of cars. I guess it's the mentality of the current generation, but if you can't afford to do something then don't jump in anyways and expect someone else to foot the bill.

Agreed. And it's not just cars. I've seen local gofundme ads for people wanting to take a vacation they can't afford.

Totally agree! Save your money and build the project or wait until you have the cash! Take a loan!

gofundme started out as a good cause, somebody ill, house lost to a disaster, family in need. Nowadays it has turned into a free-for-all whatever somebody thinks they need money for. I remember working in the mill and when I needed extra cash for a new toy or project, working 16 hours shifts for months till I could save the money I needed. One of the best ones I just seen, was a guy in my neighborhood bought a summer camp getaway and is asking for money to help remodel the place.
