I'm a firm believer in not trying to do things I can't afford. | | | Re: Infinite Surf: Retrieval, and Restoration | Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 1,015 Likes: 19 old hand | old hand Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 1,015 Likes: 19 | That kills me.. I love seeing all these old vans getting redone, but these go fund me accounts are absurd. And it's not just vans. I see them all over the place for all kinds of cars. I guess it's the mentality of the current generation, but if you can't afford to do something then don't jump in anyways and expect someone else to foot the bill. | | | Re: Infinite Surf: Retrieval, and Restoration | Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 764 Likes: 12 old hand | old hand Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 764 Likes: 12 | Agreed. And it's not just cars. I've seen local gofundme ads for people wanting to take a vacation they can't afford.

Nowadays it has turned into a free-for-all whatever somebody thinks they need money for. I remember working in the mill and when I needed extra cash for a new toy or project, working 16 hours shifts for months till I could save the money I needed. One of the best ones I just seen, was a guy in my neighborhood bought a summer camp getaway and is asking for money to help remodel the place. | | |
