Reed you should not feel old playing with slant six for 25 years.
I have been driving this van for 28 years.

worse yet it was 50 years ago that i was rebuilding the flat head in my 1948 Desoto !

Again, a want ad over on slantsix.org is your best bet.

Meh. On a street driven slant six the headers aren't worth the loss of the manifold heat provided by the stock exhaust manifold. If you want dual exhaust you can upgrade to a Dutra front dual exhaust manifold and have your stock manifold modified to become a rear manifold.

I have heard too many horror stories about Clifford to ever be interested in paying for their products.

In a van the one barrel actually isn't that bad on a slant. Plus you have to remember the offset air cleaner. There were offset two barrel air cleaners for vans with a two barrel carb form the factory, but they are RARE. Even if you keep the one barrel it is worth it to get the head ported and milled and to increase the size of the exhaust line.

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!

Well looks like I'm gonna be keeping the 1 barrel. My van funds are taking a hit with a few other things. If it's not one thing it's another. Planning to still do the head and a different carb. Current carb is junk and not worth rebuilding so it needs replacing. I'll pick one up and rebuild it properly. But why is it that when you have plans with the funds to do such, life come along punches you in the face and robs your wallet. Does any one else remember signing up to be an adult?
