The rear doors on my '78 shorty are shot and I plan on doing a proper pre-1978 conversion so I'm on the hunt for a pair of rear doors that have the license plate mount recessed in the driver side door. Windows or popouts are preferred (I like letting some of this CA sunlight in) but I won't turn down a decent set of panel doors either if the price is right.

Hopefully somewhere in SoCal because I'm sure shipping a pair of rear doors will be quite pricey. Anyone in these parts holding?

Chrome bumpers too. If you've got 'em, I want 'em!

I saw that one on Portland Craigslist and it would be ideal if I had a place to keep a second van while I pluck it apart. I'm way too limited on space though so unfortunately, I need to just scavenge for parts.

Work out a deal with A & B .... you buy it... go get it or have it delivered to A & B ... strip it there and they get the rest .... AJ at A&B is the one to talk to.

Got a great pair of rear panel doors from a forum member yesterday and swapped them with a friend for another great pair of doors with windows. He gets the doors he wanted and I got mine so it was a definite win-win!

Now I'm just looking for chrome front & rear '71-77 bumpers. They don't need to be perfect, just decent daily drivers!

Assuming from the above that the doors on a 71-77 are different to a 77+.

I have a 74, it has windows but they're not pop out and I need pop out. Are the 77 changes purely cosmetic, i.e. will more recent doors bolt in - losing originality obvs ?

Not only the yr is correct ....also if the doors were prepped for pop outs with the detent on the inside for the pop out handle...

Aside from having a recessed license plate mount on the left side on pre-'78 rear doors, all Chevy rear doors are the same from 1971-1996. All the ones I've ever seen have a recessed area for pop-out latches below the window, regardless of window type.

It's only four bolts per side if you keep your hinges, six per side if you change hinges too. Super easy to change with very minimal aligning.

If you need new grommets, they're pretty easy to find: GM 12337944 rear door grommets
