Kinda cool, but I always wonder how a van that short would steer and handle, personally I think it is a waste of a great 77 van body.

Somebody please enlighten me, I always thought chopped was horizontal and channeled was shortened wheelbase. Regards, CCCCCCC

The term Chopped refers to chopping the top by removing sections of the window posts making the top lower.
Channeled refers to modifying the body mounts or mounting points to lower the body on/over the frame. This could (back in the day) involve cutting a "channel" from front to back of the body for the frame to fit up inside the floor pans.
You didn't ask but...
Sectioning is another "old" term and is similar to chopped but refers to cutting/removing sections from the middle of the body/fender/door panels to make the whole body shorter.
