I have disconnected the brake hoses, shocks , sway bar & pitman arm. Next I'm gonna support the motor from above using heavy duty ratchet straps and remove the motor mount bolts.
Is it just a matter then of removing the 2 bolts either side that attach the subframe to the chassis?

Also there's a few clips to remove on the subframe for brake lines etc.

Once the suspension was all removed the subframe was a piece of cake. | | | Re: Dropping the subframe | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 2,027 Likes: 51 veteran | OP veteran Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 2,027 Likes: 51 | Cheers, looks the same as the G30. How did you support the motor? I did the steering today..... Before 20180102_134245 by shagedemus, on Flickr After 20180102_165734 by shagedemus, on Flickr

I supported the oil pan with a home made "cradle" of sorts that I made from 2x4 lumber and then 2 jackstands.under the wood cradle. (You can kind of see the jack stands in the picture I posted). The trans mount was still installed to hold the rear up. | | | Re: Dropping the subframe | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 2,027 Likes: 51 veteran | OP veteran Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 2,027 Likes: 51 | Cool that's exactly what I was planning to do. Good to know it works and doesn't get in the way. Great minds think alike or fools seldom differ..... hopefully the former More parts cleaned masked and painted with zinc/aluminium paint. 20180103_174724 by shagedemus, on Flickr 20180103_174659 by shagedemus, on Flickr 20180103_174646 by shagedemus, on Flickr
