this only happens after the van has sit over night. i will go out to start it and it will bust right off and then die. sometimes it may run after three or four tries, other times i will give up after 20 or so, come back in ten minutes and it starts right up. i have replaced the fuel filter, seemed to not happen for a few days after that, but could have been coincidence.

Fuel Pump? why would it only do it on a cold start.

electrical issue? why only on cold start?

Need a bit more info on what set up you're running under the hood besides your 350. Whats the condition of your carburetor? Does your choke work properly?

Carb should be good then. I'd look at the choke for sure.

Join the club.

The new 406 came with an edlebrock 750 manual choke.
I've been playing with it for a week.

Going to replace it with a 650 cfm.
Until i have more of a cam and headers, it's drowning in gas.

Hope you figure it out.

Hello there
I had the same problem and I have your answer to what your looking for
I had the exact same thing go wrong with my 91 G20
I replaced every single thing from a fuel pump, fuel filter, computer, cfm only to find out it was something so simple under the hood
The fuel pump relay is under the hood on the positive side it was corroded and that there wasn't enough power getting to the relay after 30 seconds the relay would power off it would die out you could count to 30 and poof die out guarantee
Hope this helps ya out
Sincerely
Steve O in Minnesota

Great insight and thanks for sharing. I see that was your first post too... welcome to the site!

I hate electrical gremlins but those are some of the most satisfying to fix.
