Hey,

Other day found the van dripping tranny fluid from the lower radiator hose. The transmission cooler lines are dry on each end but dirty, slightly rusty, and wet in the middle section. these are first on my suspect list.
The vacuum solenoid thing on the side of the trans seems to be working. its still pulling a vacuum. There is fluid sprayed all over the front of the engine bay so I am about to clean it all down to try and find the leak. The PO replaced the head gaskets but didn't clean the oil leak so this thing is pretty filthy.

I topped up the fluid to drive it around the the corner to park it in the garage to work on it. I found a substantial amount of fluid on top of the air filter cover after I took the doghouse off. Not sure how all of that got up there and was wondering if anyone could help point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Hey tyteric,
Welcome to the site. Fellow G30 owner. WooHoo!

Transmission fluid is flammable. Do not operate the vehicle on the street. Momentarily, to spot the leak, with a helper, is ok. It sounds like a leak in one of those hard lines to the cooler is spraying into the fan. Crude repair would be to find the hole, cut the line, and clamp a section of rubber hose in there.

Total RoadKill, but safer than not. For sure.
Safety First!

Thank's for the welcome guys,

I've cleaned it all up as much as I can got the cooler lines exposed and clean and as much of everything else I could.

Fired er up and got it up to temp and no tranny fluid leaks! Doesn't make any sense. No drips, no spray, nothing.

I did have the front end up on jack stands. I'll try dropping it down on the ground and trying again.

Not sure where to go from here.

Putting it in Drive and applying a little throttle with the brakes on will torque up the drivetrain and might expose a weak spot at a line or seal on the trans body. Look at the power steering too.

Might drive it a little. But berry carefully...
Good luck solving the problem

I've had the drip-stick tube leak at the grommet, and the seal on the shift linkage drip. Neither sprayed fluid, they just dripped.
