Seems like a nice deal if 1) the paint is in good shape...touch up around the tail lamp, and buff 2) the interior is still usable and not full of mice.

Hm.....well Ive done more bump and paint work than I like to remember, and I can tell ya right now thats no touch up around that tail light, or by the door pillar by the cowl up front. Thats rusted through, or had one hell of a dent filled in. Bondo dont fall out if applied right ever unless rust builds up under it. Thats a hell of a lot of work right there, and no easy fix or simple touch up. Big work. Any cab corner is a bitch to fix. A van corner not much different. The price is so so depending on MANY things. Does it run, how good? Is the trans and axel any good, will that paint restore? I doubt it, and Ive been down that road many times. Saving that mural is risky business. Heres a piece of advice on finds like this. After sitting in storage for so many years, you best plan on replacing the entire exhaust right now. Ill guarantee you its hit. They were not stainless back then; if not gone now, it will be in short order. They rot out internally from condensation sitting like that. You need to understand this basic principle. Letting any vehicle sit undriven for any length of time is the very worst possible thing that could ever happen to it outside of being totalled out. If it turns and has a bearing or a seal, theyre all gonna blow out in no time once back on the road. 27k? That means nothing for that van anymore, its sat for to long. Me, I wouldnt take it on for even half that price. Theres my two cents.

Any vehicle NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN FROM TIME TO TIME!!! At the very least once every few weeks for a few miles. Dont do that, and everything dries up, dries out, rusts and rots. That means exhaust, rubber seals, bearings, bushings, crankshafts rust, cylinder wals rust up. Start em up....oh sure....and there goes the rings, bam, right now. Motor mounts rot out as do trans mounts, wheels cylinders guaranteed to blow, master cylinder, brake lines, power booster all history. Dont believe me? Buy that van and get it running. Drive it ten miles. But be sure a wrecker follows you...your gonna need it.

If that van has sat outside in Michigan for as long as it looks like it has, even if it has been under cover, the constant cycling of hot and cold will have created condensation and moisture inside the van and it will be full of mildew and rot. I see a basket case with OK paint. Like Turnkey said, all rubber parts are suspect, the cooling system is likely rusted solid, the brakes are likely rusted solid, the engine and trans likely have internal damage form seals drying out and rust building up from sitting, the exhaust system is likely rusted out, the list goes on. I would rather buy a 200,000 mile vehicle that is still running and driving than a 500 mile vehicle that has sat for a long time.
