Hey everyone, I have a question - is it possible to find out what your van scored at - now that the event is over...? And is there a public explanation of the points system...?

If this is OT or it opens a can of worms, please delete it and burn it...

Thanks - Ryan

they have "how to judge a nats" classes at CofC, and you can always tag along with the judges at a nats and see how it is done and become a certified judge yourself.
as to seeing how you scored, I don't think that information is kept "private", it's just not posted publicly, I think Judith keeps all those numbers, but she is on her way to Alaska for an extended vacation at the moment.

Ok, that's cool...

Maybe I'll try to contact her in a month or so just to see...

And seeing all the judges walking around at the Nats, I wouldn't want to bug them then...!!!

I'm a Nats judge, and may be able to shed some light on the judging and scoring process. I don't have access to your sheet particularly though.

Actually Ryan, you would make a good judge in my opinion. Take the class and become certified....I hear the bribes are pretty good....

Wow, sorry everyone, I thought I signed up for notifications on this thread, but didn't...!

Thanks for that offer Smiley - I would be more interested in my specific sheet - I didn't put out any tools or cans, or my spare tires,or extinguisher - all of which I know add up the points, but weren't 'clean' for the show...

I have considered doing the Nationals judging certification - I don't know if there's many left in my area if the need ever arose...

I still do not understand the Oil & Gas Cans being on the judging sheets. I carry oil in the original plastic container and screw carrying gas! Having some tools , a jump box / cables and a fire extinguisher are important to have but should not be on the point systems. Also having a bunch of glue or bolt on items take too much points away people who like there van to be nice and clean. Just my thoughts!
