Got the bug a while back, but no van in the stable yet. Closest thing in my history was an '84 Vanagon, boy I had some blinders on with that thing. Automatic and slower than slow. But people looooove them out here curse

Looking forward to going back to American V8 if possible. Haven't had a Mopar since the early aughties....'68 Fury (318) and a super nice '66 Newport (383). Have started looking in earnest and patiently looking. Lots of overpriced turds, but that's CA for you.

Thanks for letting me join up.

Thanks all.

Not afraid to get something trailer'd, but I'd rather avoid it, or at least long distances.

EDIT - is there a casual network of folks here that would go check out a van in another state on behalf of others? Some folks on other forums are willing to do this.

Also, CA requires smog BS for anything '76 and newer, and honestly most of what I see nearby I can tell won't pass the test. A couple of sellers had admitted to getting illegal smog certs done, lol.

So, it's 1975 or earlier or something like a Dodge 2500 shorty from the '90s, which look kinda cool if you squint your eyes and tilt your head just right.
