79 g20 sliding door will not latch in the rear... Use to just have to push while shutting it firmly but doesnt work now. Stared at this for hours seems like and cannot understand why it will not stay latched. Front latches fine. What are the most common reasons for this?

Also dunno if I should start another thread but it cranks very slow after engine is hot. Has a non starter attached solenoid so wasnt thinking it could be heat soaked. Cleaned up all grounds. Cranks fine when cold, as many times as you want.
Crate goodwrench 350 engine if it matters.

My 79 also has the slow to no crank issue when hot only. Possibly timing related. My timing light crapped out and havent got around to borrowing one yet.

You probably have some loose or broken linkage heading to the back end of the sliding door.... ,aye one of those tiny little clips popped off

Vd- I looked or say stared for quite some time and unless something broke off I cannot see how the rear door latchest to the post. Is it suppose to be like tge front doors latch to the post? Two rods running back there and both are clipped in place.

Need a picture to compare it to....anybody have one?

Ill post mine up in a bit. If its suppose to latch like the doors do then I am mossing something or something broke off.

Well just confirmed it. Met a guy at gas station with an early 80's g20 and mine is definately missing the hook latches for the rear of the slider door....now to find one.
