Hello people,

I have been looking for lift up kit for 5 or 6 inch lift up for 1990 G2500, does anyone know where i can get them from?
Or less than 5 inches will be ok at this point. I thought someone from this forum would know something smile

Also, if there is a lift up kit, could you also tell me where to get fender flare and brake hoses etc in order to install a lift up kit.

Thank you for reading!

Welcome to the site ..... a 5 or 6" lift ... do you plan on putting 40" tires on it ?

I only have a 3" lift & run 35" BFG's.. My lift was done by the govt & it came with 265 tires. Well new gears & plenty of motor put me on 35". There is still way more motor than tire.....

Plan your lift carefully .. Dont go to big or too small .... lots of money will be needed to fix it. Build it as strong as possible......

here is a build thread that is very stout ... its worth reading all 40 pages

Again welcome !

5-6 inches is a lot higher than you think. There was a gold G10 4x2 at Desert Generator with a 4 inch lift and it was HIGH. Check for it on Instagram by searching for Desert Generator. It looks good.

Lift kits are an eternal question (and one I've spent a fair amount of time talking about on here myself). No, there are no kits made for your ride. Don't waste your time looking for them, I wasted my time for you.

The only way to go is some sort of franken set up.

The rear is pretty easy to lift -- all or any combination of: re-arched leafs, add-a-leaf, blocks and u bolts.

The dude with the gold G10 with the 4 inch lift used 88-91 pickup truck 4" lift spindles, replaced his rotors and brakes with bigger ones, and put 1 ton control arms and ball joints to match the spindles. So I'm told.

In the alternate, some people go with HD or G30 front springs with spacers. That would be the least expensive tactic to lift your van, but people complain about a rough ride with this last option.

gold van is a 4x4, I'm friends with him. Only 4x2 I've seen thats high is one that uses g30 a-arms and 88-91 chevy c1500 lift spindles/rotors,brakes. They dont make anything for the g-series to lift it. I used G30 springs in mine, you get a 1.5" lift up front but its not enough to clear 31's without a little clearancing of your inner fenders. Ride is also stiff. I recently switched to 15x10 wheels and cant make the turns anymore so I need to get smaller tires or lift the front more which I dont know if I want to do.

If your 5 lug, you have it so easy. Get lift spindles for C truck. The most important thing to understand is what brakes you have, look at the rotor thickness you should have the 11.75" dia. 1.25" thick rotor with the 5 on 5 lug pattern, uses the A3 and A5 bearing and the D52 caliper, when you look for a lift spindle it needs to use the same brakes or your in trouble, the rotor thickness is the give away. Do some research on all the GM trucks from C to G to P, it's all the same front end with different parts from 73 up. Gm is was real lazy in making new front ends.

@deathorvictory: Mike told me a few days ago on Facebook that his gold van was a 2wd. I thought it was a 4x4. Is it the same guy/van? He recommended the 4" lift spindles, and I'm basing what I'm doing on his approach. Anyway, that's as high as the OP would want to go. I think, personally, I'm going about 2" and will be happy with that.

Yup, same guy, but he's never been to Desert Generator. I've been to both and never saw him, only a guy named Ryan who has a Gold GMC K van thats 4x4. I spoke with Mike on the phone and seems pretty easy to round up all the parts and install is pretty straightforward. i somehow missed your post prior to my first comment. I was told the same info from Mike as well.
