THE GOOD OLD DAYS | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 348 Knews Anchorman | OP Knews Anchorman Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 348 | IN THE OLD DAYS we never heard much about vans..Our only connection was when a stray van magazine stumbled into the magazine display at the hotel....We did however have a pretty good hot rod club - the VAPOR TRAILERS -and our local priest made it possible for our club to use a portion of the Ford garage....That is where I built the flathead motor for my '35 Ford coupe.....In the meantime I was tooling around town in my souped up '49 Ford...I did a lot of work on that car and it was pretty hot....It would be a few years before any customs showed up - driven by some of the local college students....

Thankfully there is still a few companies making some of the custom stuff.
