After so many vans since my first one in 1973, I've found my last one. Been looking for a short late ford w 300 cu in 6cyl & C6 AT and I found this one in Alamogordo NM awating the crusher w 100k orig miles. I am the second owner, old couple bought it for her, she was a great driver, after 100k the front brake rotors had zero runout and met spec !!! Guy knew what he had, I had to pay 2k for it, but its worth it coz never a plumbers van, it was converted by Tra Tech when new. 6100 GVW.

That 300 is a great motor, 100,00 miles is nothing. I have had a few with 250k on them and still running great.

$2000 doesn't sound like the price associated with a "saved from the crusher" story to me.
It sounds more like an "I just bought a regular daily driver van" story.
To me, saved from the crusher implies that the scrap price is more than the market would bring selling it.
Were they really considering crushing a $2000 van?
Am I missing something? LOL

I paid $2300 for my van a couple or three years ago, with 68k, working A/C, and it had new tires on it.

No matter how you crush it though, I'm glad you found a van you like, as that's not as easy as it sounds.
Enjoy! smile
