My steel Tx cooler lines were rusted and started seeping.

Decided it was time to do a full Transmission service with new in pan filter, new steel lines, new hoses, replumbed tube and fin Aux cooler, and the warm and fuzziest of them all, the Derale remote mount filter with 3/4-16 threads, same as my engine oil filter.

I used a Fram Ultra XG16 filter, and could use the larger XG8a size for more capacity. Dont confuse the Fram 'orange can of death' with the Fram Ultra. The Ultra is a very well made filter and for 9$ is a trememdous value

With 6 new quarts of ATF+4 circulating, the shift feel has changed for the better with faster firmer shifts, especially the 2/3 upshift.

The remote filter is obviously not a requirement, but the induced warm and fuzzies are appreciated. The in pan filter is more of a rock catcher, filtering particles at best to 80 microns. The fram Ultra filter is 99%+ efficient at 20 microns.

I will be lining its exterior with Neodymium magnets, like I do my my engine oil filter.

Clean cool ATF makes for a happy transmission and induces all sorts of warm and fuzzies.

What induced your van related warm and fuzzies recently?

Pesky leaking valve cover gaskets, but seeing the rockerarms so clean gives warm and fuzzies.

Motor has been fed a steady diet of Mobil 1 synthetic oil.
