All posts are in relation to my brother's 1995 Chevy G20 Cargo van that he is currently rehabbing. Any advice or experience with questions is greatly appreciated!

If it's threaded. they may have used a threadlock type adhesive like Loctite or a contact cement on any threads. Perhaps try cautiously heating it at it's base with a hot air gun, then use a moist rag or leather gloves for a better grip, and try turning it then while it's warmed up..
