I have a van that I found that I'm looking for info on.
It's a Hong Kong van so I understand it should be before 1977.
The copyright is 1974 so I'm thinking it's from '75 to '77. With 1975 being the first year for vans.
It may have been been repainted although I can find no sign of the original paint. The only factory black vans I can find are the "Radio" vans from 1975. But they had a tampo design. Also the Redlines may have been painted over as well.

Looks green in the pics but it's definitely black.

And there's the Hong Kong base and date.

It's not mint by a long shot but it's old. Input from some of you Hot Wheels gurus would be appreciated.
I may need to take it down to Joe's for a lesson. smile

I can look at some of my vans and show you what this series of vans looked like from back then. There were several color variations.

Thanks Phil.
Since posting I've found my books and have been able to do a little more "research". Seems there were several black versions starting in '75. A few were BBW instead of RL.
The little van ain't worth much but I'm gonna put it in the case and hold on to it anyway just because I like old stuff. That and the fact it was played with and still somehow survived.

I do like combing the yard sales and old boxes of junk........

I must have a dozen of these 'Supervans'. They're one of my favorites.

Cool find. I have a few in my collection. It's kinda funny to think of how many I had played with as a kid. Wish I knew then ,what I know now. frown

My son recently won a hotwheels drag race and the let him pick 20$ worth of hotwheels. Well one of them was a 1968 hotwheels. Can't remember what it was. It was a 32 something lol. But made in 68. Found out that's the year they began. Making hotwheels. I told hi. He should t have opened it. But kids don't listen. He did put it up. Hopefully he takes care of it.
Nice find

Yep. I have a green one, and a red ambulance one. Very used. Loved my Hot Wheels as a kid.
