I just recently found materials that I think are great. Both for Sound Deadening and Sound Proofing with Radiant Heat Insulation as well. I did the entire roof of my van with 50 sq ft of Noico 50 mil. Yes I covered pretty much most of the roof besides the roof beam. The way a sound deadener works as it really only needs to cover 25% of a panel. Basically giving it more weight so it doesnt vibrate as much, thus deadening the panel. Usually you would only use it on flat areas that dont have a ridgid spot cutting down on panel vibrations. But I used it pretty much between each rail. I just ordered more to do the walls of my van. And I am using the Noico 80 mil for the front doors and wheel well areas front and back. And for the floor, Im going to be putting down mass loaded vinyl with a closed cell foam. Best and cheapest price I could find for this product. http://www.yahoosoundproofing.com/compositevinyl.htmlAlso you will need a Roller for the stuff, dont try doing it by hand. its worth the extra $7 Link to Roller: http://a.co/5kpi0I9. Then as you can see I applied a thick closed cell foam material that is self adhesive on one side and foil reinforced on the back side. Here is the link for this. It took 4 rolls to do my roof.

I'm on your page, can see the image. I usually use the second link down (direct link), and that's not working either. Weird.

I had to ditch Photobucket (it sucked anyway) and go to Flikr to get my stuff to show up again. It's not as easy to post pics from Flikr, but I'm liking it better. Photobucket had way too many ads. | | | Re: Affordable sound Deadening, Radiant Heat & Sound Proofing. | Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 3,692 Likes: 32 pooh-bah | pooh-bah Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 3,692 Likes: 32 | Photobucket had way too many ads. It's become a real trainwreck. They want to make it enough of a PITA that people will pay them for it to be ad free, and they have almost won me over. I have too much stored there to want to lose it, or start over. | | | Re: Affordable sound Deadening, Radiant Heat & Sound Proofing. | Joined: Jul 2014 Posts: 4,805 Likes: 123 Uncle Rust N Dents | Uncle Rust N Dents Joined: Jul 2014 Posts: 4,805 Likes: 123 | Photobucket had way too many ads. Now you have to have to pay a "subscription" to get the customer service they used to provide to everyone, for free. | | | Re: Affordable sound Deadening, Radiant Heat & Sound Proofing. | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 9,855 Likes: 234 carpal tunnel | carpal tunnel Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 9,855 Likes: 234 |
