Is your bar 1 1/8" like this one in this link? Did you upgrade your front bar at the same time? If not, is it tail happy at all? From none to 1 1/8" is a BIG jump in rear roll stiffness.

It didn't have sway bars front or rear originally. I parted a Beauville and took the front sway bar off of it, outfitted with new end links and urethane bushings. It isn't tail happy at all which may be due to the tall side walls on the 275/60's giving a little. It's a 4.3 van too but a stout one and I've thrown it into curves hard enough that the old lowback buckets let go of me and I had to hang on the seatbelt. It handles flat, really flat but not uncomfortably at all. My van is also in it's original cargo configuration, no weight in the back except the spare. Handling characteristics would likely be different on a conversion or LWB van with interior but my van seems very well centered and balanced regardless of the road. It can be a little slippery on a wet road but it's always been like that, get stuck on a flat yard when the grass is wet, lol.

I'd need to measure mine to see if it is 1 1/8" but seems like that's right. I measured it when I put it in a couple years ago.

Thanks for the detail Bullet. cheers

I have a '98 4wd 1/2 ton Suburban. It too handles very flat for such a large, heavy vehicle with a high center of gravity. If I can make my Express handle like it does, I think I'd be pretty happy.

This gives me something else to think about doing to the van. worms

Ditto on the 98 Suburban. Mine's 3/4 ton though. 6" of leaf spings, I'm not sure I'd even notice a sway bar on it. Glad the info helped, if I get a chance, I'll get some measurements on the bar, width, length of ends, etc. I'm sure there are differences on the Express but maybe a bar for the same year 'burb would work since they generally use the same axle across platforms.
