After breaking a bolt off in my old alternator I gave up trying to drill it out and just bought a new alternator. Now I cant get it in! My factory service manual doesnt show it installed so Its no help. The bolt that the alternator swivels on goes into the engine. I have 2 spacers but Im not sure exactly where they go. I think the long one goes into the middle as shown in the picture below. I then have a smaller one i think goes in between the adjusting bracket and the alternator. The weird thing is that if i put it there then the long bolt going into the engine block doesnt screw in all the way. Im confused. Can anyone post pics or help me out?

Here is where Im at

Thanks catfish. I finally figured it out. Now i cant get enough tension on it to line up and put the retaining bolt in. Are there any tricks? The manual says to use a pry bar and put pressure on it. That doesnt seem scientific. Whats the trick?
Here is the way it should be

Been a long time since I had a anything with V-belts. But I never had to pry on the alternator just to get the bolts to line up. Before tightening the bolts, it should be free to move (without the belt of course) with all the bolts in.

In the photobucket link, change the s14 in the first line and the i14 in the second line to img and they'll show like always. I have to do that to my photos too but not everybody does. Photobucket added some new host servers, new tree squirrels or something and its a little f'ed up. If they won't show, then the little fix will get around whatever has changed.

Also i bought a new alternator with 2 pulleys instead of one like my stock one on in case I put in an air conditioner later. Im assuming the belt goes into the groove closest to the alternator
