I pulled the electrical connector off the top of the combination valve and the brake light went out, when I put it back on the light came back on. Not sure if it's the combination valve itself or an electrical problem.

GREAT JOB getting this van back and on the streets. I consider myself sentimental but man you really went over the top here! Bummer some of the older photos in thread don't show from flikr - but this is just awesome!
Congrats - you've got a fun summer ahead - and a pretty cool van scene up there around Portland (info in recent issue of Custom Vanner Magazine).
Cool you've got some stangs also - i'm a vanner/stanger too!
Keep on vannin dude - grandpa would be proud.

I miss Grandpa the most but the van is the next best thing, as I feel like my time with it was cut short too. I was a little concerned that if anything should happen to it now, it might affect my original memories of it but I would have kicked myself more for passing it by.
Starting when I was 13 in 04 I spent years trying to find my dads 89 Mustang GT that he traded in around the same time Grandpa bought the van in 96. Wanted it back more than anything and I would have found it too in repairable shape had I just been a little faster finding the current owner or the salvage yard it was at but it ended up crushed. It was through trying to find that though what inspired me to index all of our families cars vin numbers past and present and see what the vin history shows.
I'm still finding stuff in the van that I remember, like the child seat belt adjusters my Grandma put on all the seats I sat in, heck I might still need one for the drivers seat belt as it's always cutting into my neck.

Is there a certain aftermarket brand that's best to stick with? I found two Carquest ones that I can get 30% off with promo code, both have trans cooler fittings, but for some reason the one with the engine oil cooler is cheaper than the one without it, my van only needs the trans cooler not the engine oil cooler, although I suppose I could still use the one with the engine oil cooler.
