Greetings,
Are the rear - red - side markers supposed to flash with the indicators?, on mine the front amber side markers do... but not the rear.. they work fine as side markers but not as indicators.
Also I`d like to replace all four side marker lenses, where can I get these? All I can see on ebay is 1985 and later.

I've never seen rear side markers that flashed. Not saying there weren't any, just saying I've never seen them.

Only the front side markers on my '92 flash with the turn signals.

The early lenses have a different reflector pattern and bulb position, right?

I put the old Truck/Blazer style on mine... the ones that are split, with the stainless trim. Like these:

that really helps.. mine are the same as the early one with the bulb to one side, I kinda like the other ones - I`ll check them out and get an order in today.

The front side markers on our '95 flash as well. If you'll notice, the front side markers flash alternately with the front indicators. They are easy to wire that way and it's a common modification. The rear side markers can be wired the same way and they will flash the same way however, because the rear indicator and the brake share the same element in the rear bulb the rear side marker would also turn off when the brake lights come on.
That's the reason you never see the rear side markers wired to flash.

AHA. interesting.......I remember back in the day... (`70`s) when rear amber indicators on imported cars to the Uk were mandatory, I used to take a wire from the
front indicator to the rear and mount a bulb in the reverse lens housing. worked well.

You are right Matman, you could wire the side markers together and attach the front to the indicator. That'd work.

I ordered the new front and rear sidemarkers from chevypitstop today, hope they are are good with customer service and fast overseas shipping as phileocom and AM Autoparts were last week.
